Mina has finished off a busy show year with 16 Green Stars, 13 BOB's & 1 CACIB in Ireland, making her Annual Champion for the breed for 2008 (IKC confirmed)!!! I am absolutely delighed & over the moon with this, expecially considering her first show here wasn't until 15 June 2008! This year she also gained 3 CAC's and 1 CACIB in The Netherlands and 1 Best Bitch & BOB and 1 Res Best Bitch at UK shows. We are really enjoying a bit of a break now, there being no Ch shows here in January and February, recharging our batteries until it all kicks off again with our first show for 2009, Crufts in March. |

Dublin Dog Show Soc Ch Show, Ireland
Mina was 1st in Ch Bitch, Green Star Bitch & BOB. Judge was Mrs B Beare (Ireland). It was a long day, especially as we were all still recovering from the excesses of Christmas. Thankfully the weather was ok to drive to Dublin. |

Banbridge Ch Show, Ireland
After a longer than normal drive to Belfast, delayed because of heavy frost, a flat tyre and a nice 10 mile tailback into Newry caused by the Christmas Shoppers from the south taking advantage of the pound to euro rate, Mina was 1st in Ch Bitch, Green Star Bitch & BOB. Amsterdam Winners Int Ch Show, The Netherlands
After a long trip from Ireland, we were glad to get to our hotel and relax, but not for long as there were dogs to wash. The hotel was absolutely ideal for us with dogs and is definately earmarked for the next time! During the two days of the show I kept bumping into other Irish doggy people, some there to show and others just to watch. No matter where you go, you'll always meet someone from home! There were Bolognese from The Netherlands, Belgium and also us from Ireland. Everyone made us feel so welcome and it was good to catch up with friends. Mina was 1st in Ch Bitch class, CAC bitch & BOB!!! Judge was Dhr. J.G.A. Boelaars (NL), who was kind enough to write Mina's critique in English. Later on in the day, in the ring of honour, Mina was shorlisted in the group under judge Michael Coad (UK). The long drive was so, so worth it! To get the CAC & BOB was absolutely fantastic but to then go on to be shortlisted in the group was a heartstopping moment. A Bolognese has never reached this level in Ireland and to get shorlisted in a group for the first time at such a big show was as they say 'the cats miao'! |

Mina was 1st in Ch Bitch, Green Star Bitch & BOB. Judge was Mrs A Foley-Duggan (Ireland). Drogheda show was held in the racecourse at the top of a hill and it really was a very cold, showery, windswept day spent running between the car, the ring and other shelters around the grounds. |

Tralee Ch Show, Ireland (Munster Circuit)
Mina was 1st in Jun Bitch, Green Star Bitch & BOB. Judge was Mrs C Clapp (US). I very nearly didn't make it to the show as the car started playing up on the way up the hill just before the venue for the show. Towards the end of the day, just as Group 9 was about to be judged, the heavens really opened and it poured rain! Regardless, the show had to go on and the judging commenced while still raining. Not pleasant! I have never, ever seen a group to be judge so, so fast! Some were lucky to have helpers who held umbrella's for them. As I found out, it's very, very hard to set up a dog and hold an umbrella at the same time! Without even going over the dogs, the judge walked quickly around the ring and shortlisted her final few. I dropped Mina into the car and the tent was dismantled in lightning fast time. |

Killarney Ch Show, Ireland (Munster Circuit)
Mina was 1st in Jun Bitch & Res Best Bitch. Judge was Snr J Blanco (Spain). Even though the Circuit has 4 shows, I was only able to do two of them. The weather was absolutely awful for the entire week, pouring rain and it was an amazing exhibition of stamina by all who endured the elements, exhibitors and the show committees! Rain & mud + white dogs is not really the ideal combination! |
